Sheryl Allshouse, Treasurer

Occupation:  Pricebook Administrator for a locally owned chain of convenience stores

How long have you been shooting:  Most of my life, handguns for about 5 years, shotguns for 2 years

Do you remember what your first experience with shooting was like, what happened, etc:   Not really, plinking in the backyard with a BB gun

Do you shoot anything outside of handguns (rifle, shotgun, etc):  Shotgun!  It's my favorite!  I have a rifle that I haven't even gotten out of the box!

What caliber do you prefer: Any of them, particularly if you let me shoot YOUR ammo!

Special Certifications in shooting:   NRA Certified Chief Range Safety Officer, NRA Certified Instructor in Refuse to Be a Victim, Pistol, Shotgun.  USCCA Certified Instructor.  Student level classes include ICE Fundamentals of Concealed Carry, NRA Muzzleloader.

What made you want to start shooting:  As a child, it was just kind of something we did.  As an adult, it's good stress relief and it's fun!

What do you like best about shooting:  Checking out of real life while at the range, pushing myself to be better at it.

What made you want to get involved in Sisters of the Second Amendment (S2A):  I was hooked from my first meeting!  Safe and friendly atmosphere with like-minded women.

What do you want other ladies to know about S2A:  Don't be nervous or scared, come on out and you'll have a BLAST!  I promise!

What do you like the most about S2A:  The camaraderie both on and off the range!

Any special tips that you can offer to new shooters: Safety FIRST!  (Fun is a very close second)

Why do you think women specific clubs like this are important:  Let's face it, it's a male dominated sport that isn't always easy to break into.  I love the idea of S2A to give women the opportunity to learn in a safe and welcoming environment and find their "thing" be it within S2A or USPSA, IDPA or any of the other fantastic shooting organizations out there.

Any other hobbies/talents outside of shooting: These days all of my hobbies seem to be gun related.  I also enjoy traveling, sewing and building things.

Why do you think women specific clubs like this are important: We are a professional group of women who like to have fun, shoot safely and always have a calendar full of upcoming events. Our club keeps things exciting and motivated for the future.
